What got you into music? -

It's not what, but who. I'd have to say my dad was and is my inspiration when it comes to music. He was the first multi instrumentalist I had exposure to. Although primarily a drummer, he can play the guitar as well. He's the one who showed me that through lots of practice and hard work, you can do what you love. My dad's played in various bands over the years and I'm so thankful that I've gotten a chance to watch him play live. As for me, the first instrument I learned how to play was the trumpet. Stuck with it all the way through high school and became 1st trumpet in jazz band. I was the trumpet player in a ska band while I was in high school. I was also in a basement band where I was the drummer. We covered DMB, the Eagles and Led Zeppelin to name a few. We also recorded some originals on a 4 track. Good times for sure.

Why did you join IATP?

A couple of years ago, my dad gifted me one of his older kits. I thought it would be a shame not to put it to good use. A couple of months later, I saw Jerrod post on one of the local music groups. He was looking for a drummer. I think I said something like, "Are you still looking for a drummer? It's been about 10 years since I've played on an actual kit, but I have my own gear." The rest is history.
